Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are a small team which will allow you to gain a broad insight into various risk management activities.
Primarily you will work in the areas of operational risk and help the team to develop and improve the company's control framework and to promote an open risk culture.
Depending on your profile, the role could be expanded to additional responsibilities such as:
• Supporting preparation of the own risk and solvency assessment (ORSA) and governance reporting und Solvency II, particularly risk policy maintenance and alignment with Solvency II requirements.
• You will contribute to the maintenance of a comprehensive risk management framework, in particular by proposing appropriate limits, monitoring risk exposure developments, and ensuring regular reporting to a variety of partners.
• You will support the review of deals and product proposals to support Risk Management's signature. Providing expert opinion on business proposals, ensure that key risks are identified and reflected in deals, and ensuring that reasonable risk mitigations are implemented. Your risk advice will promote culture of risk awareness particularly awareness of risks for the iptiQ carriers.

Our risk function has a business oversight and servicing role. We are responsible for setting out the conditions under which the Company is willing to take risk, its risk tolerance and its risk management principles. We make sure that our Boards and Senior Management are aware and understand the risk exposures, risk landscape and the functioning of the risk governance framework our entity.

Personality requirements and skills

• You are passionate about working in the fast-paced environment of a young insurance company committed to the digitalization of life insurance business; you want to be part of this disruptive business processes
• You have 2-3 years of experience in either a start-up environment, direct life insurance or a technology company.
• You are an operational risk management professional; a deep understanding of business processes in Primary Life Insurance Business and the obstacles towards digitalisation would be helpful.
• You bring track excellent delivery skills; you are comfortable working in an area that is fluid and dynamic and are able to handle multiple deliverables and reprioritisation
• You are an independent thinker - willing to challenge - can-do-attitude, curious and keen to learn.
• Your English is excellent, other European languages are helpful
