Duration of the position: 9 months with possibility of extension

Office of the IOM International Organization for Migration in the Slovak Republic is seeking for a candidate for the position of Reintegration Assistant. Under the general supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) and the Head of Integration Unit the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of activities implemented in the framework of IOM Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Program. The main objective of the Program is to enable effective social and economic integration of returnees in their countries of origin through the provision of comprehensive assistance and services in accordance with relevant international instruments.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the overall guidance of the Head of Office (HoO), the successful candidate will be responsible for assistance in the implementation of all project/s activities. Specifically, s/he will:

1. Provide pre-departure reintegration counselling to the target group based on close co-operation with field operations assistants;
2. Assist returnees with elaboration of reintegration plans;
3. Co-operate with IOM missions regarding the elaboration and feedback on proposed reintegration plans;
4. Organise the meetings of the IOM Bratislava committee to select reintegration plans for implementations;
5. Cooperate closely with IOM missions in the countries of origin regarding the practical implementation of reintegration assistance;
6. Collect all supporting documentation regarding the implemented reintegration cases;
7. Ensure monitoring of the implemented reintegration assistance;
8. In co-operation with the project manager update the IOM manual on reintegration;
9. Actively participate in related activities, such as development of information materials for target groups, PR activities of the programme, etc.;
10. Establish and maintain contacts with relevant governmental, non-governmental entities on project issues;
11. Actively participate in the meetings of the project team as well as attend official meetings and appointments if needed.
12. Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the project as well as in the preparation of periodic and final reports on activities in compliance with donor reporting requirements.;
13. In cooperation with other members of the project team contribute to development of new projects aimed at different migration issues, in order to secure sustainability and continuation of AVRR activities;
14. Advise on developments, new trends and policies in the field of migration;
15. Assist with translations;
16. Perform other duties assigned by Head of Office/Project Manager.

Required qualifications, experience and skills:
 Master's degree in Social Work / Psychology or similar
 Minimum 1 year of experience of social work or relevant work with beneficiaries
 Good orientation in migration law of the Slovak Republic
 Experience with providing direct assistance, case management support, there will be a strong focus on promoting mental / physical health and well being to this target group, and a definite focus on social inclusion
 Experience working with migrants, culturally diverse environment - an advantage
 Very good communication, negotiation, analytical and organisation skills
 Flexible, reliable team player with proven networking, negotiation, and partnership building skills
 Ability to function effectively and harmoniously in a fast-paced, cross-cultural work environment;
 Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity

 Experience in developing and implementing activities related to integration issues- an advantage
