Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Collaboration Solutions Engineer is responsible for the solution design, development, customization, and integration of end user collaboration solutions and productivity tools.
The role will involve supporting data migrations from on-premises to their equivalent Microsoft 365 cloud services.
Responsibilities include:
- Engineering, design, and development of migration solutions from SharePoint on-premises to target platforms.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on technical implementation and migration activities, providing support and solution guidance to internal teams and other stakeholders.
- Maintain and support existing on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective procedures and systems requirements that meet business requirements providing high quality technical solutions and exemplary customer service.
- Participate in the gathering and documenting of stakeholder requirements.
Minimum experience and skills:
- 3+ years of experience with business information systems integration or custom business application design and development in a professional technology consulting.
- Hands-on experience with Office 365 architecture, administration and best practices combined with a strong current knowledge of end user collaboration solutions, with primary focus on SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure is a plus.
- Proven Business Analysis skills.
- Demonstrated experience with heavily customized (on-premises) SharePoint environments:
- Understanding both "old" and "modern" ways of SharePoint development, including SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
- In-depth understanding of AuthN / AuthZ concepts in both the online and on-premises world.
- Complicated records management, (information) security and heavily customized provisioning scenarios.
- Good understanding about the underlying components in the space of Identity and Access Management (Azure Active Directory (AAD), Security and Compliance in Azure / Office 365).
- Hands-on knowledge in automation and DevOps.
- Intermediate to advanced development skills (PowerShell or comparable scripting language).
- Proven design, planning, preparation, and implementation experience with Microsoft 365 in complex environments and experience with co-existence between on and off-premise environments.

The Collaboration Services team is delivering SharePoint and other Microsoft solutions that are part of the Digital Workplace to work seamlessly together and quickly adapt to changing business needs anywhere from any device. The Digital Workplace connects us with external partners, integrates all applications & information and leverages future innovation. The Workplace Solutions product area and approach is fully supported by agile methodologies to ensure e-2-e responsibility, quicker time to market and to help us center our work on the customer experience we want to deliver.
