Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a team fellow to join our friendly VAT team, which is responsible for all VAT matters of our Slovak and international clients.

As a Consultant in VAT area, your main tasks under supervision of senior colleagues will be:

● Providing advisory services related to VAT queries to Slovak and international clients;
● Coordinating & supporting client in VAT audit and VAT litigation process;
● Communication with Slovak tax authorities;
● Preparation of VAT returns and other VAT related reports, towards their timely and quality submission;
● Monitoring tax & related legislation on Slovak and EU level, including assistance with preparation of comments to proposed changes of VAT legislation;
● Preparing internal analyses & newsletters for clients;
● Assisting with the mapping of VAT processes, and identify areas for improvement and solutions for VAT issues;
● Cooperation with colleagues from other lines of service, e.g. audit, consulting and deals teams as well as close cooperation with PwC Legal on tax inspections/litigations.

Personality requirements and skills

Personality requirements and skills
● University education;
● 1 year of experience with the VAT, including basic knowledge of Slovak and tax administration law;
● Experience in providing advisory services to Slovak and foreign clients on the VAT structuring, transactions, compliance (welcome, but not a must);
● Good communication & organizational skills, problem solving skills;
● Ability to work ethically and with full integrity when making time sensitive or difficult decisions;
● Experience in communication with tax offices and other institutions (welcome, but not a must);
● Team player with a positive 'can do' attitude;
● Well organized, detailed, flexible and ability to work within tight time frames;
● Ability to work and actively communicate in English;
● Proficiency with MS Office, primarily MS Excel.
