Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Do you have some experience in software development already or would you like to learn how to do it properly?
• Are you interested to code in a non-traditional programming language - R?
• Mathematics and insurance is the environment you would be happy to work in?

We can offer you the role when you can learn all of that! You will be a part of our development team responsible for the implementation of an in-house developed software used for calculating Zurich's Internal Capital Model.
You will work closely with quantitative analysts in Group Risk Management in Zurich and the production team located in Bratislava.

As Junior R Developer, your main responsibilities will involve:

• Support developments and software maintenance within an Agile (Scrumban) way of working using rich existing code-base and documentation
• Cooperate with other team members and business and quantitative analysts
• Provide technical support for the end-users
• Enhance team standards and practice for coding and developments

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

As Junior R Developer, your experience will ideally include:

• Minimal education: University education (Bachelor's degree)
• 0-3 years experience in commercial software development
Experience in either of R / Python / Java / C / VBA
• Willingness and desire to work in R
Understanding of capital modeling, statistics, numerical optimization is an asset
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
