Job description, responsibilities and duties

Nexteria and LEAF, in partnership with Klub uradnikov dobrej vole, are preparing to launch a new program dedicated to nurturing the next generation of public sector leaders in Slovakia.

The Public Sector Leadership Program will aim to equip high potential early career civil servants with the foundations to become the champions of values-driven, ethical, people-focused, evidence-based and innovative public administration in Slovakia.

The first edition of the program is expected to be launched in January 2023 and offer a 6-month personal and professional development journey to young talents from Slovakia's public institutions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to strengthen the program management team and help us deliver a world class learning and growth experience to a group of high potential civil servants.

The Program Coordinator will play a key role in bringing the program to life and shaping its future.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop expertise in public sector leadership development and innovation, in close collaboration with leading organizations dedicated to growing the future changemakers of Slovakia.

Role Description

The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of nurturing the next generation of public leaders by:

- Coordinating implementation of program activities across its various work streams.

- Helping build a vibrant community of public sector changemakers, including through designing and delivering community building activities, and providing organizational support to events held within the program as well as with program alumni.

- Keeping track of the latest developments and global best practice in the field of public sector leadership, management and innovation, and feeding these into program design.

- Contributing to curriculum design of program modules focused on leadership, project and people management, policy design and delivery, personal growth, among others.

- Crafting tailored communications about the program, including social media and website content, external communication products (articles, brochures), among others.

- Supporting efforts aimed at ensuring financial sustainability of the program, including drafting of funding proposals, pitch decks, budgets, and other program documentation.

- Assisting with data collection and analysis to ensure assessment of program impact and inform decisions on program design.

- Contributing to the design and execution of talent identification and selection strategy for the program.

- Ensuring timely communication with program candidates/participants, public sector institutions, experts, donors and other partners.

Who We Are Looking For

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

- Higher Education degree in a relevant subject, including Public Policy/Administration, International/European Affairs, Management, Marketing, and other social sciences. Highly driven recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

- Keen interest in developing expertise in public sector governance and leadership, policy/reform delivery, evidence-based policymaking; previous experience (internships included) working with/on issues related to public administration will be considered an advantage.

- Experience with project management/coordination.

- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both Slovak and English, with the ability to tailor communication products to different audiences, ranging from interacting with public officials to drafting of program documentation for donors or producing engaging copy for public communications.

- Effective time management and organizational skills (including organization of events) and ability to multitask without losing attention to detail.

- Proactive, eager to learn attitude.
