We are looking for a colleague to join our Energy Management Department who is ready to take on a meaningful challenge at U. S. Steel Košice - the largest flat-rolled steel producer in Central Europe. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your insights will directly support strategic decision-making across the company. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, operations, and corporate leadership.
The Market Analyst provides critical market intelligence and strategic analysis to help the company navigate the fast-evolving electricity and natural gas markets. Your work will contribute to securing reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective energy solutions for our operations, supporting long-term planning and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze developments in electricity and natural gas markets (local, regional, and global).
Track regulatory and policy changes, market reforms, and macroeconomic and geopolitical trends relevant to energy procurement and operations.
Develop market outlooks and scenario-based forecasts to support strategic planning.
Prepare and deliver high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of electricity and natural gas markets.
Knowledge of economic and financial interdependencies and market environment.
Analytical thinking and strategic mindset.
Excellent presentation and computer skills.
Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken).
Familiarity with relevant energy policy and regulatory frameworks.
Continuous improvement and achievement of quality goals.

Target Profile:
Master's degree in Energy, Economics, Business, Public Policy, Engineering, or related field.
Proven ability to produce strategic reports and recommendations.
3+ years of experience in energy market analysis, policy advisory, portfolio management, or energy trading is an advantage.
Experience working with energy companies, utilities, regulators, or consulting firms is a plus.
Additional business-related work or related experience in operations service would be beneficial.
Computer literacy with a working skill level in Microsoft Office products is required.
